We are offering a new 2 year apprenticeship working towards an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Amenity Horticulture. Over the 2 years you will cover all aspects of Amenity Horticulture including grass cutting, pruning, planting, turfing and turf management and pond maintenance.

The course will include a total of 10 weeks block release over the duration of the contract with free accommodation and support towards transport costs.

We are seeking to appoint a conscientious caretaker as a valued member of our school team.

This is a full time post with a split shift pattern of work over early morning and late afternoon/evening. You will need to have a flexible approach to your work and additional hours may be required as and when the need arises. You also have the option to reside in on-site in accommodation provided by the school if desired.

You will: -

- Be committed to maintaining and improving the quality of the school environment for the benefit of the children and staff.
- Be responsible for site security, opening and closing as and when required and be a named key holder.
- Carry out first line repairs and maintenance.
- Identify and report preventative maintenance and carry out more specialist repairs/works.
- Monitor and direct the cleaning staff.

Our client has an opportunity available for a Gardener to undertake grounds maintenance work, this will include grass cutting, shrubs and hedge maintenance, maintenance of beds, clearing leaves and litter.

In this key role you will responsible for the general maintenance of one of our client’s sites inOxfordyou will also undertake the planting, pruning and seeding where required. Using the usual range of tools and equipment you will ensure all works are carried out in line with current health and safety legislation. You will also assist with other schemes as and when required for operational reasons and embrace training as required.

The successful candidate will have experience of amenity horticultural operations including grass cutting, shrub pruning and hedge trimming and essentially will have knowledge of specialist horticultural operations, (e.g. fine turf maintenance). You will have the ability to use light plant and equipment associated with amenity horticultural (e.g. motor mowers both cylinder and rotary mowers, clippers, strimmers, etc) and you will have some basic preventative maintenance experience. In addition you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of good customer care and be able to follow work instructions both written and oral.

Residential Caretaker - (Grade B+) 25 hours per week

We are looking to appoint a Caretaker to undertake general Caretaking duties and complete more specialist work required from a competent DIYer. The successful applicant will also be responsible for the monitoring and directing the cleaner(s). Other responsibilities of the job include
- Carrying out first line repairs and maintenance
- Ensuring the premises are open for use as and when required
- Identifying and reporting preventative maintenance and carrying out specialist repairs and works
- Regular checking of security devices
- Operating the heating plant.

The Caretaker's bungalow is of a high standard and has recently been refurbished - including the installation of a new boiler earlier this year. A beech finish kitchen is installed, which includes a selection of integrated white goods. Decoration and flooring are left to the discretion of the successful applicant.

The person appointed will be the nominated key holder for the school premises.
