      <title>Health and Safety Assistant - Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service</title>

      <description>Closing Date: 24 May 2013 17:00&lt;br /&gt;Reference: 1505&lt;br /&gt;Location: Service Headquarters, Nissan Way, Barmston Mere, Washington&lt;br /&gt;Salary: Scale 6 SCP 26 - 28 | £22,221 - £23,708 per annum&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within our award winning Health &amp; Safety team.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Within the role you will be required to carry out risk assessments and site surveys throughout the Tyne and Wear area as well as analysing detailed information to contribute to the effectiveness of our policy and procedures. You will also be required to deliver general health and safety training to all internal personnel and provide administration to the wider Risk Group.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Experience of working in a health and safety environment is essential as is a NEBOSH membership and involvement in delivering training is desirable. &lt;p&gt;Applicants must have:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;NEBOSH general certificate or significant relevant experience within a health &amp; safety function.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Qualification in or studying towards (or willing to work towards) training e.g. PTLLS&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Member of IOSH (or willing to work towards)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Work experience involving:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Carrying out risk assessments and site surveys&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Data analysis and interpretation of information&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Negotiating timescales and work objectives&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Delivering training&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Applicants are to be aware that due to the internal structure of the department the role will be titled Health and Safety Advisor once in post with the duties remaining the same.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <description>Closing Date: 31 May 2013 12:00&lt;br /&gt;Reference: 2036&lt;br /&gt;Location: Service Headquarters, Nissan Way, Sunderland&lt;br /&gt;Salary: Scale SO1, SCP 29 - 31 | £24,646 - £26,276 per annum&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;To ensure the availability and effective performance of the Service's data, telecommunications, mobilising and radio infrastructure, managing its operation, and development, and contributing to the development of the ICT strategy.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Applicants must have:&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Degree (or equivalent) in a communication electronics, telecommunications or a related subject, or substantial work experience appropriate to the role.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Experience in the implementation, repair and maintenance of radio, voice, data and other telecommunication devices/networks.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Knowledge of radio and telecommunications systems equipment.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ability to produce comprehensive and well-structured reports.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Knowledge of contract administration.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Knowledge of electronic hardware fault assessments and be able to monitor trends/developments.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
